'Tis the Season to be Spiny.

Pokey
Not so festive, but appropriate for my mood.

Taken at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens in the "desert." It was so warm. Mmm.

I was trying to isolate a few spiny things, while still getting the idea of the whole cactus. I'm somewhat pleased with the way it turned out - looks a little like bull horns.

Costa Rica in Cleveland.

Costa Rica in Cleveland.

These flowers were delicate and growing on a log at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens.

It delighted me to see green and flowers during this insanely cold month.

Hawai'i

Hawai'i
Ah, to be surrounded by palm trees, balmy breezes, and the ocean.

Yes, please.

Taken from our recent trip to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

I just loved the lighting in this - the dark, starry background, shadow from Mike's hand. I've always been enamored with globes and maps. A gigantic globe made me giddy with joy.

Lovely Lakewood.

A lovely October afternoon was spent in Lakewood, just west of Cleveland and home to the highest ratio of vegetarians and vegans in the region.

We loved it! It also is home to Melt, a grilled cheese restaurant and a cereal cafe. Yum. (I base my decisions on food, obviously.) I am loving this city and all the different neighborhoods and their individual personalities.

We're in Lakewood!

Falling in Love with Early Fall

Snow is on the ground here in Ohio, but I came across these pictures and had to share.

In early October, we went for a walk (and Mike ran while I took photos). It was a gorgeous day.

The perfect kind of day for a few pictures:

MIA

100_4001
Hi, friends. (If anyone actually visits this poor excuse for a photoblog anymore!)

I've simultaneously misplaced, eh, lost, my camera and our Mac Powerbook's hard drive crashed.

So, this will be put on hold for the time being. :)

My Babies.

I'm the oldest of 25 grandchildren on my mom's side, which is why there are seven boys under the age of 5 constantly running around. They are delightful little people, and I love being with them. [Although I will NOT enjoy being old enough to be their mother when they grow up. I'll be that "old cousin." Eww.]

Photographing children is tough. They're squirmy (& cute!) little buggers. Behold, some portraits of my favorite little people {children, not LPs. Just so we're clear.}:

Being a toddler is tiring.

Perplexed. And rocking the baby rosary.

Baby smiles are the best.

Little baby teeth.

Hot, tired, and whiny. Delightful, really.

Sweet lips.

Remember when losing a tooth was a huge deal?

June Picnics are Love

On a sunny Friday evening, three vegetarians enjoyed a delightful cookout...

Exposaroonie: Color Challenge

This week's challenge was vibrant colors. I searched around our apartment, and here's what I found...

Some handmade, fair trade stars. I absolutely love stars. (This isn't quite vibrant...)

Prayer flags!

Raise Your Hopeful Voice

I'm always on the lookout for photo subjects - since strangers don't deal well with a random girl pointing her camera at them, and my husband shies away from the lens - I often have to resort to exercising my creativity by photographing myself. Alas.

Vespa Love

So this is my hope that I'll have a space to photograph and share. I'm starting simple - and maybe not with the best pictures...but I just want to get this thing started!

The impetus for really starting to post was my friend telling me I had a "good eye for shots" and that I should do something with photography. Giddy and flattered, I rushed home and to Photoshop.
